Coleman and Abby's Hotel for the Dead

Coleman and Abby's Hotel for the Dead

I had to do it!

This joke was born at 1am in the back woods Hobart Aid Station of the TRTer 100 mile ultra. Coleman the cheerful DNFer, and a brother team of runner & pacer in a vomit holding pattern, made light of the pain. We soft pitched “Coleman and Abby’s Hotel for the Dead” as I ironically oversaw 9 limp race droppers while wearing my “no dropping at Hobart” visor. Every new zombie that entered in those dark hours was given aid and encouragement and instructions on tracker forfeit and 3 hour shuttle waits - with a pinch of humor. I passed out blankets and broth and only a few DNFers were against being a part of my 3 star hotel for the dead. That’s how good the service was. ☠️ Or maybe it was because I set up my hotel by the heater.
My husband just brought up his desire to do 100 miles. He kind of circled around the words for 5 minutes first and then practically took them back after saying them. I think I'll let him wear my hat.
